Oliver Rait has a record of helping global business successfully access benefits through technology. His early career was spent in marketing roles in the travel and leisure industry, initially hotel and timeshare marketing for a prestigious Scottish leisure group. In 1995 he moved into the car hire industry, where he has applied effective affordable marketing principles to retail, loyalty, consumer, trade and partnership marketing. He is fluent in PR, direct, brand, tactical, point of sale, on & off-line disciplines. Clients included Avis, Hertz, Europcar, Macmillan Publishing, Cameron House and Craigendarroch Hotels. In 2001, Oliver joined Avis Europe plc. to develop their business to business eCommerce. In his four years with Avis, he was responsible for developing web, xml and other travel technology solutions, introducing e-tickets and e-billing, integrating with travel portals, airlines, tour operators and corporate accounts. Penetration of online b2b grew from less that 0.5pc to circa 10pc of total sales in his hands. Project managed solutions for Expedia, Thomas Cook, BA, Lufthansa, KLM, Flybe, bmi, Swissair, Airtours, RCI, Eurostar and El Corte Anglais amongst others.
